Episode Transcript
[00:00:12] Speaker A: Gets hit Kimmy kids a little too far here. He's gonna have to try and get himself out. Let me go. Tillery and the rest of the shots of fire. Zion is just killing the next Zion can eat it single handedly win the game by game by game by game by should be oh my God. Stupid passes through and manages to the table with Messiah tanking it up. I do not believe he just believe.
[00:00:42] Speaker B: I cannot understand this game.
[00:00:46] Speaker A: Unicorns of Love it wasn't a mutant. The Nexus hello and welcome to episode 573 of the League Rundown. This is your 2025 LTA split three week three review and LEC split three week two review. This episode is lovingly entitled One More Step need be climb. I'm Kangas and you're about to understand that reference shortly once we talk about it. Joining me, we have a slim cast night and we're also going to be recording much later than usual into the evening, so probably lower energy. But I got Mr. Mazel Pl with me.
[00:01:36] Speaker B: Luckily I'm a giant human being, so you know I make up all the space.
[00:01:41] Speaker A: True you and you're you project with your voice too. So you can be like Echo.
[00:01:46] Speaker B: And I could not hold my face straight. I'm sorry. I tried. I tried really hard. I even like moved my mouth away from my. My mic and I could not hold it. The title's too good.
[00:01:57] Speaker A: So the title for anybody wondered is in reference to NaCl, the tier 2 for League of Legends who was recently taken over by Liga Ace. This split or I gu. No, this year. Right. So last split and this split and if you don't know who they are, they also run the Valorant Tier 2 for Riot and they won the bid to take over League of Legends tier 2. Rs no longer internally kind of managing the whole product. It's now tournament operated and production is operated by Liga Ace. And they have some interesting translations because it. It's. It's a Spanish company and they're trying to tweet and make content in English and a banger edit came out where bold letters in a video. One more step need be climb and God, that's just such a funny line. I love that.
[00:02:45] Speaker B: And no more second chances in a double Elim playoff. It's fine. Everything is fine.
[00:02:53] Speaker A: Hey, your player card was sublime.
There's a lot of. There's a lot of funny references we're dropping in here. If you can just go check out the NACL Twitter account, you'll have a lot.
[00:03:04] Speaker B: There's also A parody account called like Witch NaCl.
[00:03:08] Speaker A: Wait, there is.
[00:03:09] Speaker B: Wait, you don't know about the parody?
[00:03:10] Speaker A: Oh, do I have to follow that? Wait, that's amazing.
[00:03:13] Speaker B: You don't know. Dude, that was an insta follow from.
I unfollowed them because I don't want to be caught following the parody account.
[00:03:20] Speaker A: Which NaCl?
[00:03:21] Speaker B: Yeah, which NaCl.
[00:03:24] Speaker A: Because, you know, like, which as in.
[00:03:25] Speaker B: Which one or like, like, like evil witch.
Oh.
[00:03:31] Speaker A: Oh, they follow me. I'm following the.
[00:03:33] Speaker B: Hell yeah.
[00:03:36] Speaker A: Hell yeah.
[00:03:38] Speaker B: They're really funn.
[00:03:42] Speaker A: It looks like.
[00:03:43] Speaker B: Sorry, if you watch this. I apologize.
[00:03:46] Speaker A: Yeah, I highly doubt. I highly doubt they will know.
But nacl news aside. Yeah, Recorded a little bit late tonight, so like I said, might be lower energy, but we'll try our best here. Let's get into the global news though, while we're at it, because LPL is underway and we have Mr. Bazelle, pl. So what's going on in the standings? Who's popping off? Who's struggling?
[00:04:09] Speaker B: Well, as of last night, EDG and Group Nirvana, the only undefeated team.
And BLG has finally fallen after seven wins in a row with Shadow as he came into the split and they lost to anyone's legend in one of the.
Hmm, what's the word?
Hmm?
[00:04:32] Speaker A: Oh, medic has a really good one.
[00:04:35] Speaker B: Yes. Lobber knocker, Slobber knocker. I say that one a lot, so I was trying to like, think of something else, but I guess y' all don't know that I say that a lot. So it was a slobber knocker, a mud fight, a shit flinging, hash slinging.
[00:04:49] Speaker A: Slashers, whatever, Cars smashing each other, three.
[00:04:54] Speaker B: Elder Dragons, multiple flips, multiple throws. Four Barons had gone down. There was at one point a trade for Elder, for Baron, for the team that was losing at the time, it was absolutely wild.
I'm going to shout out kangas with this one.
Both Nexuses got touched and they ended up finding so much chaos in the in between. It was absolutely disgusting that the two top teams in the LPL had that kind of gameplay because the macro play went completely out the window. But it is a must watch. It is an absolute must watch. Just downright fun. Old League of Legends, it's like right up the LPL alley. So go watch that. For sure.
[00:05:38] Speaker A: I haven't checked it out yet, but I do want to because everyone I hear talking about it. Also, I feel like I should explain why you're shouting me out for saying the Nexus has got touched. But also, it's just funny if nobody understands so we're gonna move on from that.
[00:05:49] Speaker B: Yeah, there's one other.
[00:05:50] Speaker A: There was one other bit. Oh, I don't want to say I had a. I had a segue. I'm not gonna say the segue because this other bit of news is not very funny. Shanks, a player in the L.
There's a bit of a scandal going on. I'm just going to summarize it from what I've seen and then just let me know kind of how close I am in the information here. So basically he was streaming or hopped onto a stream with some other ex LPL players and basically just cyberbullied the out of a poor woman. And then, you know, that started going off online. She was very upset about it obviously and there was like a big push to, you know, for the. Either the league or the team to punish Shanks. And basically what it came down to was all they did was they took away three months of his bonus, not his actual salary. So very much just like a little slap on the wrist considering just kind of how big that popped off on social media. Is that. Is that kind of the story?
[00:06:42] Speaker B: For the most part it was a debate that they joined like a live chat debate and it was about sex work. And they all went in, they bullied the shit out of her like you said. It was actually some of the worst things I've heard a human being say typed in their chat.
And yeah, only got those three months which we posted about it on LPL English which, you know, repercussions from that yet to be seen. But we posted about it showing off some of the other issue situations where 3 months bonus salary had been taken away. And you know, one of the big ones was back in the day way on Eastar.
Changed his ruins and his summoner spells in the practice and didn't change them in the game. So loaded without smite in the jungle and he got three months salary taken away from him. And it's wild that those are the same punishments when you're degrading a human life and being an absolute piece of.
[00:07:41] Speaker A: Shit so very publicly online to the point that it's like popping off on Weibo and stuff.
[00:07:47] Speaker B: So yeah, as Kelsey Moser says, beef fans of the. The team animals instead of the players and you won't be disappointed.
[00:07:56] Speaker A: The team.
[00:07:56] Speaker B: There's a lot of really cool animals out there for the LPL teams. Like every single LPL team has like a mascot animal or multiple.
[00:08:03] Speaker A: I didn't know that. Yeah, that's very interesting.
[00:08:05] Speaker B: They're usually Dogs.
[00:08:07] Speaker A: Okay, that's, that's good. It's just like different breeds of dogs.
[00:08:10] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[00:08:11] Speaker A: If you, if you could have a breed of dog be your team, what would it be?
[00:08:15] Speaker B: Samoyed for sure.
[00:08:17] Speaker A: I don't know what that is.
[00:08:18] Speaker B: Wait, I got the big fluffy poof balls. Do you remember quick shots, dog?
[00:08:22] Speaker A: Yep, yep, yep.
[00:08:23] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:08:23] Speaker A: I think I would go Sheba. Sheba would be a classic, man. Or honestly, can't go wrong with golden retriever.
[00:08:30] Speaker B: True.
[00:08:31] Speaker A: Those dogs are so good. All right. Anyway, that's it for LPL News. Thanks for the update and kind of which matches to watch if you haven't caught any. And also kind of who's at the top of the standings right now.
Other news around the horn. Some roster news here in the North 30s still playing for long and we're still waiting on Zamuto to come in. They do have another weekend because this coming week we're now in the best of five elimination phase of the season. So they're not playing this weekend. They're playing next weekend in the lower bracket. Maybe we'll have Zamuto by that point. But Serdy looked pretty good. Still with the team. Also 100 thieves yet to be determined. If they just straight up lied to us about the whole six man roster. Dokal played all three games.
So it seems like it's just Oakland for Sniper.
[00:09:17] Speaker B: If point, if it were that. If. I'm going to tell you one thing, Kangas, okay. If it looks like shit, if it smells like shit, if it even tastes.
[00:09:26] Speaker A: Like shit, well, I wouldn't recommend it.
[00:09:28] Speaker B: Probably shit, Kangas.
[00:09:30] Speaker A: Okay. You know, it's good to be thorough.
[00:09:32] Speaker B: It's.
[00:09:32] Speaker A: I guess it's good to be thorough about this bullshit.
[00:09:37] Speaker B: That's all I'm saying.
[00:09:38] Speaker A: Shit right now. That sucks for Sniper. I mean, I'm happy to have Dokla back. I was sad that he wasn't in the league coming into this year, but this situation just is rough. Like positional coach, then a sixth man and then the start.
[00:09:53] Speaker B: It just looks bad for every party involved. Like there's literally not a good outcome.
[00:10:00] Speaker A: Yeah, it's rough.
So we'll see what becomes of that. Hopefully Sniper has already like signed with another team. Like I think that's best case scenario is that he was already meeting, shopped around and then was just like, oh yeah, I'm just going to be there. And they're like, okay, well we'll just put dopa in then. I don't know.
[00:10:16] Speaker B: But it's crazy to me.
[00:10:17] Speaker A: A good thing.
[00:10:18] Speaker B: Yeah. It's just crazy to me that. And I don't know, maybe I'll get in trouble for this. Who knows, whatever. But at one point there was a clause in this kid's contract that he was. He had to start LCS at the time by 2025.
And. And like now how far? That's like. He's not a bad player at all. And to do that to him, I just. It's shitty. It is what it is. Luckily, you know, they're gone.
[00:10:45] Speaker A: So I have a lot of thoughts about kind of the situation. But as.
[00:10:49] Speaker B: No, you're good.
[00:10:49] Speaker A: Caster for the scene. Yeah, it's just, you know, I'll talk about that with you. Offcast.
But yeah, that's interesting kind of roster stuff going on. Other variety topics going on around the kind of ecosystem. If you noticed in na, we're already going into our elimination phase, which is still technically part of the season, but if you remember, it's complicated. I just explained it as we're in our north playoffs. The north conference playoffs will send the top three teams to the final cross conference playoffs, which will happen after this stage. So yes, technically we're in the regular season still, but teams are being eliminated and it's all best of fives. We're in the north playoffs.
And surprise, surprise, C9 got first seed going into that after the pick and play phase, which kind of shocked a lot of people just because the rule set was very vague. There was a lot of confusion going around and like, communication with it and like, what were the actual tiebreaker rules.
And then it came down to game or like strength of wins, which is interpreted as how fast your wins were. Right. So C9 was tied with FlyQuest in terms of game record, series record, but they had faster games. So they got first seed, which is crazy to think that they never played each other. This split. Fly Quest beat them in two best of fives in a row, last split are the reigning champions.
Yeah. And then like second seed for Fly. See, I get first seed.
That's weird. It's that, that, that I don't think should happen. And hopefully next year the format looks very different, which is crazy to think about because I always ask, like, can we just have the format be the same, please? Like, can we stop changing all the time? No, no, this one, nothing needs to change.
[00:12:37] Speaker B: Just.
Yeah, I don't know. I guess my only point is that's a long time to wait.
[00:12:43] Speaker A: That is a long time to wait. But at least for our purposes, I think Fly Quest is gonna beat anybody they play against. Except for maybe Cloud nine. Anyway. So, like, I don't think it really mattered that much, but it's just, what if they don't?
That would be crazy. We'll talk about predictions and who they're playing against shortly here, but mazel. Did you see the Smurf detection?
[00:13:07] Speaker B: The Smurf detection they did because I'm smurfing so much.
[00:13:12] Speaker A: Oh, understandable.
[00:13:14] Speaker B: Yeah, Yeah. I do agree with all the conversation about boosting. I think. I think it. Absolutely. I think, and they said it in the kind of dev diary that, like, smurfing does have a place in some way. Not like Smurfing to stay in that elo, but smurfing and challenges and things like that to see how far you can get in a new role and things along those lines. Like, I think that can be leveling.
[00:13:35] Speaker A: A new account organically.
[00:13:36] Speaker B: Like, but as you said, it's been. It's been a little bit haywire. It's like the AI want to. Want to get out, want to take over. I don't know. But it definitely has gone a little bit more rampant than I think Riot wanted in the end. So I'm glad there's stuff there, but I hope they can figure out the kinks in it quickly.
[00:13:54] Speaker A: Exactly. Because it's hitting from what I'm hearing from a lot of high ELO players, like you said, sometimes they have an alt account that is for a different role. So there'll be like a challenger jungler that has a master level support account that they just like to plan sometimes. And those are getting hit by the detection system. And so they're like, dude, I'm not like, actually like, trying to do anything malicious here. Like, it's just my other account that I play off roll stuff on. So it's like, I understand that there's people upset about this, but I think I agree that in general, this is a good move for Riot to try and go towards. It's just making sure that the detection system is correct. So if anyone's hearing this and you had a Smurf or another account that got hit already, apologies. That sucks.
Hopefully you're able to appeal it and get that worked out.
So.
[00:14:39] Speaker B: Yeah. Also, just as a side note, on Global Esports stuff, be careful using Riot games is song list for like the next while, by the way.
[00:14:49] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:14:50] Speaker B: Don't, don't.
[00:14:50] Speaker A: I forgot about that one.
[00:14:51] Speaker B: Y' all got hits taken like we have at LPL English for using free music. It's fine.
[00:14:56] Speaker A: Yeah, well, so we Actually, I talked about that with some of the LTA folks today because we got further clarification. Emily actually brought it up in the media.
[00:15:03] Speaker B: She's our. She's our super sleuth.
[00:15:06] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. And so I got to hear the answer given to Emily, which was this is a issue happening due to YouTube's new policy change at hidden AI. Apparently whenever that update rolled out, everything started getting hit for like this like, music use. And they're like, no, nothing on our.
On the riot side change, or at least they don't think anything on the right side.
[00:15:29] Speaker B: The thing that changes. They're transferring to Virginia Music. So they posted about it actually on their end too. Okay. A lot. And they said that the major reason is because they're transferring music provider or like the distributor, I guess. And there was like an issue when they did that as well. So it's like a two pronged thing that's happening at the same time.
[00:15:50] Speaker A: Sure. Maybe I'd misheard then the.
[00:15:52] Speaker B: No, no, no. You heard it right. That's what I'm saying. It's like literally the two different things happening at the same time.
Yeah. Because we got that answer from Emily. And then we also saw the post from Riot that happened like earlier today.
[00:16:04] Speaker A: Okay. Well, good news is it did have a spark of creativity for two musically talented casters in the scene. Rafa and S Eggs created some music beds for lpl, which I got to hear both of them. Both of them showed me a lot of what they had made and I was like, dude, this stuff slaps like, it's actually awesome. So it's.
You guys hopefully will get use of the right music again, but I think.
[00:16:27] Speaker B: Nah, we'd be sticking with our own music.
[00:16:29] Speaker A: Yeah, that's bad. I like that a lot more, actually.
So. Yeah.
[00:16:34] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:16:35] Speaker A: If you are in need. If you're listening to this and they're in need of a music producer, hit up Mazel. He's got.
He knows the people to connections, man. He's got the connections.
That's it for global news. If we missed anything, let us know through the community Discord. You can find a link in the description wherever you're listening. And also if you want to support the pod, you can find a link to the merch shop as well as the patreon in the description. With that said, it's time to hop into some league of legends. We had eltan, we had lec, both happened this past weekend. And I mean, we already covered some of the Eltan, so I want to start with that. Just so we can kind of continue that conversation. We'll close out with lec. But lta North Mazzella was the end of the pick and play phase. How about you run through the standings where the teams actually shook out afterwards going into the elimination phase?
[00:17:27] Speaker B: All right, y' all ready for this?
I'm crazy.
At first place.
Cloud nine.
[00:17:36] Speaker A: Shocker.
[00:17:37] Speaker B: Crazy.
[00:17:38] Speaker A: Whoa.
[00:17:39] Speaker B: Some questions there. Anyways, number two, Fly Quest.
Number three, Shopify. Rebellion. Number four. As always, for some reason, fate should have it. Team Liquid, they're back. They're at four again.
Disguised at five, which is just absolutely insane to me.
Lion at six, then 100 Thieves, and then Dignitas.
[00:18:07] Speaker A: Mm.
The reason being. And we'll cover it here, actually. I mean, technically, it was already kind of more covered last week. Is that Disguise picked up a game win versus Shopify. So the way that the rankings go is it series wins and then game wins. Disguise had one more game win than lion, so that put them fifth seed.
Isn't it a great format?
This was the best, man.
[00:18:32] Speaker B: It's the best. So competitive.
[00:18:34] Speaker A: It's awesome.
So that's how things shook out there, the. The games as they were. We had a pretty fun series between TL and C9. If you really mainly focus on the first game, that was pretty close. But, yeah, if you're a big fan of Yawn, you're just crying, dude. Like, how hard does this get? Need to carry, man.
[00:18:53] Speaker B: It is tough. It is tough.
I will say, though, I think my brightest points. I know the Yawn part. Yeah. But I still do think that Yuji and Core are having some good showings at some points. And, yes, I really think that they just need to carve that out a little bit more.
[00:19:12] Speaker A: Yuji, in particular, is showing that he is really getting comfortable on stage and is not making any of these kind of, like, snap mistakes that we saw in the first split that he subbed in. There was that one crazy series for Shopify, if you remember, where, like, Core hand holds him through the early jungling, but outside of that, he looked a little lost in some games. I'm not seeing that anymore. I'm seeing a confident Yuji, which you and I know what he's capable of.
[00:19:38] Speaker B: Level dude can be one of the best.
Like, I know they're in completely different levels, but I think years down the road, I could personally see Yuji being on the level of inspired. That inspired is for NA right now. Right. Like, I think he has the ceiling to be that good, but it's about getting there, and I think he's got a good head on his shoulders, but he needs to be cultivated a lot. And that's what I hope TL are doing, which I. From what I know they are, which feels good.
[00:20:06] Speaker A: Well, exciting because we get to see that matchup this coming week and actually that briefly.
But yeah, TL overall I think showed that they have what it takes to get leads. They still just struggle with cohesion to close out games. And C9 are the second best team in the region, so it's. It's tough to actually get across the finish line versus them.
Lion versus Fly. This was an interesting one because Fly across the board were doing really well. But lion mid lane in particular. God Saint was kind of body and quad. Yeah, a little bit like that was a little bit.
[00:20:43] Speaker B: You give the retract.
[00:20:46] Speaker A: Well, it wasn't like, you know, just, you know, actually he kind of was just crushing. Now that I think about it. Like he solo killed him. I. At least once, I want to say twice he was up in cs like both games. Like this guy Saint is one of those weird factors where we think about him as the one that's easy to talk about on lion because he has these standout performances. But man, is, do you. Do we like need to talk about this guy more? Because if you put him on Fly, if you put him on C9, if you put him on even like Shopify Rebellion, I think all those teams get better and it just shows how like much of a gem lion has in the mid lane right now.
[00:21:23] Speaker B: I agree. I think. I think the team can show off some. Some good things. I still feel super awful about the top lane situation.
[00:21:32] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:21:34] Speaker B: But yeah, I don't know. I think there's some good bedrock at lion and I like their social media presence. I like the content they've put out too.
[00:21:44] Speaker A: So yeah, they have an active fan base and the way that they're playing with sturdy right now is basically weak side Serdi and then play elsewhere, which I think is a pretty decent strat when you have a sub top laner in but 30 still. I think holding his own enough that it's.
It's. People should be scouting for next year. Yes, his dignitas run was really bad, but already two weekends on Lion. I think that teams should be like, okay, there was something else going on at Dig. Like clearly Serdy showing us a different level on Lion. Let's investigate that and see if he would fit on our rosters for next year. Because I, I was like, I really hope so. He gets another shot and is not just a flash in the pan that nobody has faith in anymore. I think that this is kind of. You should have faith in him.
[00:22:26] Speaker B: But I also, like. It sucks that I also think Zimuto deserves the shot.
[00:22:30] Speaker A: Yes. Yeah. I mean, we could have five MVPs, most prospects in the league, right? It would be Dokla's back, plus Busio, plus Masu, plus Yuji, and then Zamudo would be five. That would be awesome, dude.
Other series from the weekend. 100 thief, shop, fire, rebellion. That one actually went the full distance to three games, which was kind of exciting. Doklo was back, and he had. Oh, my God. Was that guy playing aggressive? Oh, I got to host pros, and I totally forgot until right now. I had made a mental note. Forgot the mental note to ask him, like, what were you trying to prove?
Jeez. He was like, the Jags game in particular.
He was playing the edge often, and I like that. I think that that's cool. But it really did feel like, you know, player that is first weekend back really wants to prove what he's got.
So I wish I could have heard more of his thoughts on that, but overall, I think the 100 Thieves did. I love Sniper. I think they looked better with Dokla. I really do.
And he. He brings more veteran presence. What I did hear from FBI and him during pros was, like, Doko saying, like, I just feel like I'm more confident to talk and, like, create plans with the team and, like, that. That's what I provide in the top lane for us. And I was like, yeah, they seemed more coherent as a team with him in there.
[00:23:55] Speaker B: Yeah, it's tough, you know, if I speak, I'll be fine.
[00:24:02] Speaker A: Okay. All right. All right. You won't have to share your opinions on that one. Then.
What about Dig dsg?
[00:24:07] Speaker B: It was good. Did he get a chance situation?
[00:24:09] Speaker A: Yeah, it is. Did you get a chance to see Dig dsg? The worst series, but also somehow best series, I think, in the history of our region.
Dude, that was a fun series.
Oh, my God. That game three Xu on J4.
[00:24:27] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah.
Oh, God.
[00:24:32] Speaker A: I can feel the pressure that he was feeling because that moment is like. That could have lost you the game right there.
[00:24:39] Speaker B: It's all of the. The.
It was. It was like all of the PTSD from America's challengers just immediately came at him and he. Oh, God. Oh, God. You can, like, see it on his face, if you don't know. He missed multiple very key smites and lost them. The America's Challenger series.
[00:24:58] Speaker A: Yeah.
And Even in this series he had a rough smite, but the bigger one was just his engages, man. He was going in.
And I like it when players are confident to do that. But if you are having that close of a series where nerves like anytime the camera went to him, we showed replays, he was like shaking and they would be like that. When he flashed Jarvan Alts onto four people and no one on his team is ready and they're like, what?
And then he just dies at otacon. We showed the replay and he's like, his hands shake it and he's like, I'm sorry guys. And like you hear them all be like, it's okay, it's okay. Like trying to call him down. I'm like, all right. At that point, who he's on route. Let who he engaged like, it's fine. You'll be follow up.
But they did win the series. DSG got their first series win baby of the year of their franchise history in tier one.
Think about that.
[00:25:51] Speaker B: Well, first LTA series, they are champions in acl.
[00:25:55] Speaker A: Well, yeah, in tier one. That's what I said.
[00:25:57] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, sorry, Sorry.
So I still have their original shirt, by the way.
[00:26:03] Speaker A: Yeah, you do. Nice with like the hand drawn little stick guys.
[00:26:08] Speaker B: Yeah. So cute. But yeah, it's. It's a congratulations to dsg. I mean, I don't know how much it means. I still think I might the the stonks in my ultimate bring LLCs back to LTA.
Setup was for 100 Thieves or DSG to win everything, be the champion and then be out of the league next split. But unfortunately I think it's not going to happen. But DSG getting a win nonetheless makes it funny because then they pushed all these other teams right underneath them. And those are teams that are in it for the long haul. And they might not be.
[00:26:43] Speaker A: The crazy thing is if they had won their second game of the series in 23 minutes, they would have been fourth seed.
[00:26:53] Speaker B: That's wild.
That is absolutely wild.
[00:26:58] Speaker A: Yeah, it's kind of nuts. It's kind of nuts.
[00:27:02] Speaker B: But they won. Let's go.
[00:27:04] Speaker A: Yeah.
And the fact that they did win I think is good for further morale. But I'm curious your thoughts because you've been paying more attention to NACL as you're casting it still the split, who can compete with DSG, do you think?
Who?
[00:27:19] Speaker B: LG? 100% beats them.
[00:27:22] Speaker A: Oh, okay. What's the roster for LG for everybody listening at home? Because they're probably not gonna be as aware.
[00:27:27] Speaker B: Oh God. Why am I forgetting the top laner. Hold on one second.
[00:27:30] Speaker A: Okay, take your time because that's the big question for dsg. No matter how many series they.
[00:27:34] Speaker B: Oh, it's literally, it's. It's literally dsg for the most part, it's fake. God, Tomio, Zazel and then Insanity and Tactical.
[00:27:45] Speaker A: That's very funny. Yeah, because Tomo was on the old roster, I believe, instead of Tactical.
[00:27:50] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:27:51] Speaker A: And who was there?
[00:27:54] Speaker B: Young Jungler.
[00:27:55] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, Young was mid, Right? Okay, cool.
[00:27:58] Speaker B: Young, Mid.
[00:27:59] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:28:00] Speaker B: Yeah, they look really good. I mean, Supernova went out and got the super team of super teams and they look real damn good. So that's why I make fun of it a little bit because I really, really, really highly doubt that DSG keep their spot because there are some really good teams in NaCl.
Supernova went with Hoarder, who I'm not going to spoil it, but might be looking at an award this split in his rookie year, Dardoch. They brought back to Jungle a Blaze. Olive came into mid lane, they got Scary Jerry from when he got dropped. And then they have Breezy back coaching retirement and they have just looked really damn good.
They were undefeated for most of the split.
[00:28:46] Speaker A: So two threats for disguise then. That's going to be tough for them going into that promotion tournament, but we'll see if they can maintain the funniest thing. They could make worlds and still have to go to that promotion tournament.
[00:28:58] Speaker B: God, that, that was my want man.
[00:29:04] Speaker A: Series to watch. I put lion versus Fly even though Fly took it two. Oh. I actually thought that it was a really entertaining series regardless. So check that one out. If you only have time for like a series from this past weekend.
Oh, you have TLC 9.
[00:29:19] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:29:20] Speaker A: All right.
Honestly, all the series had a reason to watch them for one reason or another.
So yeah, just support Na, you know, just do it.
[00:29:30] Speaker B: Just go watch even Shopify Rebellion. Hundred Thieves.
[00:29:34] Speaker A: Yep.
Week four predictions. We're into the best of five elimination stage. We are in the upper bracket starting off. So it's going to C9 is first seed choosing their opponent and who did they choose? Had to be one of the teams up there in the upper bracket with them. It could have been FlyQuest TL or Shopify Rebellion. They went Shopify Rebellion. Despite Team liquid struggling despite C9 just beating them earlier.
[00:29:58] Speaker B: Scared of the Jungle Goat. The Jungle Monster.
The.
[00:30:02] Speaker A: The Mongolian monster, baby.
[00:30:04] Speaker B: Goddamn right.
[00:30:06] Speaker A: But C9 chose Shopify rebellion. I, I got C9.3 zero. I I don't think Shopify have what it takes to take down C9 we saw this last split in the top three match. They quickly 30 dismantled Shopify. I don't think Shopify got that much better, if better at all. UFC 931 though. So you're giving Shopify at least one.
[00:30:26] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean dude contracts and.
And pal Fox just decide to show up sometimes. They. I always give them at least a game, man, because true when they're on they're so on, but when they're off they look really bad.
[00:30:41] Speaker A: So like the thing for me is when they're on, they're usually on for the series.
So I don't see them being on for one game and off for three.
[00:30:53] Speaker B: Zero sweep.
[00:30:55] Speaker A: Oh, okay. You think C9 like figures amount? Yeah. All right. All right, fair enough. Flagwise versus TL is the other matchup in the upper bracket. This one I am giving TL one game. I fly quest taken at 31 also give badgers predictions because you threw them in here. C930 for him as well. Fly quest three. Oh for badger. But Miselle you have a three two for fly quiz. You really have some faith in the TL boys.
[00:31:20] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean I always do. I more so this is like a want I guess more so than like thinking of with my brain because I just really appreciate this team. I want to see them go out on a bang. I.
I highly expect changes to this roster and it sucks because this is a roster that's been together for so long besides Jungle. And I feel like there's been a lot of cool history made by a lot of the members on this team and I just want to see them do good for one last outing. I mean this is one of the teams that held one of the strongest records and like I was an absolute dominant champion when they were and the majority of those members are still here and especially the coaching staff, so.
[00:32:04] Speaker A: And two, it's impact and core JJ's contracts are up at the end of the year. The other three players go through to end of next year. But I mean we know that never means anything. But it does mean for sure that Impact and Core JJ would either get new contracts or get dropped. So I'm expecting change in the off season for team Liquid in multiple places.
[00:32:25] Speaker B: I could never see them getting rid of Core jj, but I could see them getting rid of Impact.
[00:32:30] Speaker A: I agree. I. I actually think. Well, I. It's not that they would never get rid of Core, but I don't think they want to. I think if core is willing to play, they would be willing.
[00:32:38] Speaker B: Oh yeah, like retirement is the Only exit, I think.
[00:32:40] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or maybe coaching or.
[00:32:42] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:32:42] Speaker A: If he wants to like move on.
[00:32:44] Speaker B: And do some player retirement.
[00:32:45] Speaker A: There you go. There we go.
All right. That's lta north. What happened last weekend. Expectations for the following weekend. So now let's hop across the pond to lech league where we had week two of games.
There were four matches from last weekend and I will say there was only one of these. It was hard to predict.
That was like close to a 50. 50. Other than that, it's still just favorites.
[00:33:12] Speaker B: Winning dude with the predictions.
[00:33:15] Speaker A: Dude. Badger. Bang. Badger got 100 predictions on on EU. RMC got three. I got three out of four.
[00:33:22] Speaker B: Wait, no, he didn't.
He didn't get the scores. Right.
Right. Am I crazy?
[00:33:30] Speaker A: Oh, I mean, I still kind of crazy.
[00:33:32] Speaker B: Sorry, I was looking at. Sorry, sorry, sorry. I meant RMC banged on the LTA predictions.
[00:33:38] Speaker A: Oh, did he?
[00:33:38] Speaker B: Wait, Sorry. Badger.
No worries. No worries.
[00:33:44] Speaker A: So badger got 100 on L. Ec which is cool because he. The coin flip was McCoy versus Casey.
[00:33:50] Speaker B: That.
[00:33:50] Speaker A: That was the one. In my mind, I was like, I don't know which way this one's gonna go. I had faith in JoJo. I know you would have had faith in JoJo as well.
Correct. Yeah. Yeah. And that was a banger series. That's for sure. My series to watch.
MCOI should have won it. I'm gonna say it right now. They like a 3,000 gold lead in game three and then through and I was like, no, stop, guys.
I really.
Well, actually now. Now I'm thinking I'm confusing that with gx. MCOI either. Either way, there was one that I was like, MCOID should have absolutely won this game.
The GX series was also very exciting. I think it just further reinforces.
I believe GX are a good team and are a threat in the lec. They definitely can hang with the best teams. They've already taken a game off of both KC and mkoi. And the only teams remaining in the group are Navi and Vitality, which are both ass like Navi.
We'll talk about that in our predictions for next week. That's gonna be basically the dig disguised of the LEC is it's gonna be Navi versus Vitality.
But Mizel, what team is on a heater right now? Undefeated in series has only dropped a single game in group B. And to my surprise, I didn't think they were going to be this good as well.
[00:35:15] Speaker B: The only team that seemingly matters now.
Fanatic, right?
[00:35:22] Speaker A: G2's in this group. They've only played one series so far, so they have more.
[00:35:26] Speaker B: I think that's a big caveat.
[00:35:28] Speaker A: Yeah, but Fnatic's popping off, dude.
[00:35:30] Speaker B: They're 3.
[00:35:31] Speaker A: 0 so far. They've played everybody except for G2 and Poby. Dude.
Oh my God.
Where were you? I don't remember where you were on, like the opinions of Poby coming in from T1 Academy, you know, being winless in LCK when he subbed in for Faker.
[00:35:48] Speaker B: But now I think he's okay. I think it's fine. I think I would rather see an LEC talent there. But you got to win if you got to win, I guess. And he is now serving burgers at McDonald's pretty much.
[00:36:01] Speaker A: What if I told you that Poby has the.
Currently, I believe it's like a 23 or 22.8 KDA.
[00:36:12] Speaker B: God damn.
[00:36:13] Speaker A: In seven games he's died three times.
[00:36:16] Speaker B: Yeah, it's pretty nuts. Poby and he was coming fresh training and stuff too. So he's all warmed up and good to go.
[00:36:23] Speaker A: He is also one of five players with over 10cs per minute. There's a lot of LEC players are popping off right there. But alongside upset, these two are just crushing so hard that they're also just farming like perfectly. It's crazy, man.
[00:36:40] Speaker B: Dude upsetting his black hair era.
Also love that he continued the fanatic mid laner trend with shocks and stole her microphone and then just said it was easy and gave it back to her and yep, that was like one of the funnest piece of content all weekend.
[00:36:55] Speaker A: That was great, actually. That was awesome. Yeah, I'm. I'm very impressed with Poby and I think that Upset as well is just.
[00:37:03] Speaker B: The man was allowed to sub in for Faker. Like, come on. Like, if he doesn't show up, I feel like it's a catastrophe.
[00:37:11] Speaker A: Well, I think the expectation, or at least the not expectation, the hesitation around Poby was what happened to the times he did sub in for Faker? Yeah, for sure.
[00:37:22] Speaker B: But then you sub in the LEC strength and then you're like, oh, he's playing against children.
[00:37:28] Speaker A: Exactly. Dude. He. He looks like the best mid laner and it's going to come down to him and Caps in this group. Caps is really the only one I can see holding him back. I don't think it's going to be Vladi. I don't think it's Jojo. I don't think it's Nuke. Like it's got to be caps or bust. Poby is just Uncontrollable right now.
So. Yeah, Fnatic.
Fnatic. Looking crazy. They're looking good.
And I. I don't want to get like too far ahead of ourselves, but let's just, you know. Predictions for this coming week. We do have fanatic G2 baby get ready. That's gonna be a crazy day. That Sunday is going to be whiplash because we get Vitality Navi and Banana G too.
That's gonna be crazy.
Actually. Wait, wait, wait. No, no, no. Let me check, let me check. Is this the actual one? Yes. This is actually still Saturday, Sunday, Monday. Because then the next week for some reason it's on Monday, Tuesday.
[00:38:22] Speaker B: Oh God.
[00:38:24] Speaker A: Yeah. Badger pointed that out. It's like a really weird LEC schedule.
[00:38:27] Speaker B: Disgusting, right?
[00:38:29] Speaker A: It's very odd from this past weekend though. The other matches that happened at G2.
[00:38:33] Speaker B: It didn't they learn from the LCS.
[00:38:37] Speaker A: I know, right? Hey, we know. We had the data, okay? The data told us that weekday games.
[00:38:42] Speaker B: A different product than what you're working on, so don't worry about it.
[00:38:45] Speaker A: True. Man. I don't have to glaze that one. I do. I. Okay, I will say I unironically liked Monday Night League. I know I was in a minority. Most people did not. But coming home from work and then just booting up LCS and watching while I like made dinner, that was fun. I actually kind of like that back in 2020. Early 2020.
But anyway, yeah, G2's thrash team Eritics. Not much to talk about there.
Go watch the MCOID series though. McOID GX and McOID KC both delivered. Fnatic BDS was also kind of like a thrashing on. On Fnatic's part. So two one sided series, two very, very fun ones. But then this coming weekend we got MCOI versus Navi.
You and I both have MCOID 2.
[00:39:30] Speaker B: 0.
[00:39:31] Speaker A: Navi is maybe the worst League of Legends team in the west. Tier one right now. They are bad. And that's including SK team Heretics versus sk. Speaking of, I actually have SK picking up a game here just because team here digs doesn't know how to end games.
Looks like you agree with me there. So silly is T Bear Dick's taking it. But it's gonna be a wild one for Vitality Navi. I noticed you put vitality 2o so you actually have some faith in them, Badger. I'll tell prediction he put someone 2 1. I actually put Satan 2. 0. I think Satan wins here. Gotta give one to Satan every now and then. Credit where it's due.
No, if I had to cast Dig Disguise and I kind of enjoyed that series actually, in all honesty, there's a chance this is a banger just because it's gonna be sloppy League of Legends.
[00:40:20] Speaker B: But avoid can do it. Anyone can do it.
[00:40:25] Speaker A: Fair.
But if you're the type of viewer that likes to watch good games and not just the clown fiesta funny games, I would avoid this. Watch the next series instead. Fnatic G2. I actually have God taking this one in a 5, 4 series because he's just gonna bless us all, man. I. This is the most excited I've ever been for Fnatic G2 in the regular season just because of how hot Fnatic are coming into this one.
But you actually have G2.2 one, so I. I don't. I don't even know which one I'd give it to. Maybe Fnatic, but. But they haven't shown what they got against G2 yet, which is the kind of end boss of LEC.
Oh, one more day.
[00:41:05] Speaker B: All right.
[00:41:05] Speaker A: Yeah. There's also games on Monday for this week. KC Vitality, we have KC2O G2 BDS, we have G2.20, maybe stinkers. Yeah, yeah. But Fnatic G2, set your calendar, set your timer, put an alarm up, text your mom, say, give me a call at this time to tell me, turn on the telly and watch Fnatic G2. That match is going to be exciting.
But with that said, that's. That's LEC in a nutshell. I feel like we blazed through that one, but just because the. The matches were a little more one sided across.
[00:41:37] Speaker B: Hey, hey, hey, hey. Hey, kangas. Hey, kangas.
[00:41:40] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What's up, Mizzell?
[00:41:43] Speaker B: How many games are there on. On. On this weekend of lec?
[00:41:48] Speaker A: How many? How many games?
[00:41:49] Speaker B: Yeah, like how many series?
[00:41:51] Speaker A: How many? See, there's six series.
[00:41:53] Speaker B: Okay, there's six series. And then. So if you do like. Hmm. I think the number is. I think it's six. Wait, what? Minus one.
I think you get five. And I think that's a really, really good number.
[00:42:06] Speaker A: And it's because the LEC is the number one worst region in the world based on msi.
[00:42:12] Speaker B: Yeah. So it's the minus one, the number one. I mean, obviously for five stars that like correlates with something else. I think it's like the stars you can give this podcast if things like synergize like that. You just have to go with it.
[00:42:26] Speaker A: I mean, exactly. If everyone can leave us five stars wherever they're listening along. It really helps us out get noticed. And also it helps because then Mazel actually gets payoff for putting all this effort into coming up with these every week.
[00:42:40] Speaker B: I don't need to pay off the statements to pay up. True.
[00:42:44] Speaker A: It's good practice for. For on camera. You know, like, when you're cast, you got to come up with stuff. But honestly, thank you so much for listening along, everybody. That's it for another week and another episod of the league rundown. Hopefully, we'll have a full cast in the next coming weeks here as we get further into LEC season and the knockout stage for LTA North. But until then, just remember, we love you, and we'll see you next time. Bye.
[00:43:07] Speaker B: Bye.
